WHO: All kids in the Avon Grove School District... and beyond!
WHAT: The Second Annual MileStones Walk for Childhood Cancer in the Greater Wilmington area
WHEN: Saturday, October 17th 2009
WHERE: Iron Hill Brewery on the Wilmington Riverfront
TIME: 8:30 a.m. Check-In, 9:30 Opening Ceremonies, 10:00 a.m. light walk (~1 mile)
WHY: Kids walking for kids will send EVERYONE the message that we care!
WHAT TO WEAR: PLE tye-dye t-shirt or Spirit Wear or a Yellow t-shirt if you can.
NO MATTER WHAT YOU WEAR... BE THERE... TO SHOW YOU CARE!
There will be lots of fun family entertainment!
Refreshments provided by Iron Hill Brewery after the Closing Ceremonies!
Did you know?
- Each year over 12,500 children and teens are diagnosed with cancer.
- There are several of those children in our community and right here in our schools.
- Childhood cancer is the #1 disease killer of children. It kills more children than the next 5 diseases combined.
- Childhood cancer funding receives the least funding of all cancers!
You would think that Childhood Cancer is receiving adequate funding and cutting edge research... BUT IT'S NOT!
This walk is about raising awareness, raising money to find a cure and showing our friends and neighbors affected by Childhood Cancer that WE CARE!
There is a $10 fee to walk and donations are appreciated - 100% goes to CureSearch Childhood Cancer Research.

Note: $10 registration fee. Fundraising is optional but would be fantastic!
