This program is for high school students (13+) and their parents and caregivers.

National PTA has teamed up with Discord to facilitate meaningful technology discussions between high school students (13+) and their parents and caregivers. Discord is committed to doing their part to create a healthier digital environment for their users and help make Discord even better for students, teachers, and educators. The PTA Connected: Build Up and Belong program, sponsored by Discord, will help families:

  • Explore the use of technology as a communication and relationship tool.

  • Discuss ways to build belonging and positive communities in our digital world.

  • Learn how to navigate privacy and safety on digital platforms.

  • Have interactive family conversations about online scenarios, experiences and expectations.

PTA Connected + Discord

Discord is a voice, video and text communications service on a mission to create space for everyone to find belonging. With over 150 million monthly active users across 19 million servers, Discord helps friends and communities of all sizes come together to hang out and explore their interests—from art projects and family trips to homework and shared hobbies. It's a home for communities of any size, but it's most widely used by small and active groups of people who talk regularly.
